 蒙太奇，是電影構成形式和構成方法的總稱。 蒙太奇——是法語montage的譯音，原是法語建築學上的一個術語，意為構成和裝配。後被借用過來，引申用在電影上就是剪輯和組合，表示鏡頭的組接。 簡要地說，蒙太奇就是根據影片所要表達的內容，和觀眾的心理順序，將一部影片分別拍攝成許多鏡頭，然後再按照原定的構思組接起來。一言以蔽之：蒙太奇就是把分切的鏡頭組接起來的手段。
